Gravelstoke DirtChurch Gravel Series 2023 — Gravelstoke

admin by admin
July 8, 2023
in Cycling Gears

EVENT DETAILS

#DirtChurch rides will occur on the second Sunday of each month in the 2nd half of 2023. 5 Rides have been scheduled starting July 9, 2023. Additional rides are scheduled for August 13, September 10, October 8, and November 12. Depending on demand we may schedule a special Encore ride in December to close out the year. Each #DirtChurch Sunday will include two GPS routes (long and short) that will be posted to the corresponding event page on our event page. The long route will be a few miles longer than the other, with a quicker expected pace. At least one water stop will be marked on each Ride with GPS course. We do anticipate having new starting locations each month, giving us a great opportunity to explore the best gravel that San Diego County has to offer. We will do our best to have restrooms available at each starting location, and some place close to the finish to gather for post ride drinks and food. All rides will start at 8AM sharp, with long routes finishing around 12pm.

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT

With a diversity of road and dirt surfaces, the optimal bike for #DirtChurch is a gravel bike with tires at least 40mm in width. Tubeless tires are highly recommended. Please ride completely self sufficient with a hand pump, CO2 cartridges, extra tubes and other appropriate trailside repair gear.

SELF-SUPPORTED

This is a self-supported ride, with no SAG wagon or official aid stations. Courses are not marked and you are 100% responsible for yourself, your mechanicals, your food/water resupplies, and your retrieval off route (in case of emergency). Expect an adventure!
